The stock tiny pins can get lost very easily, with the fiberglass material being subject to hole punches since it is so hard to put on the canopy in the first place. These let you just put the canopy in place, while easily guiding the thing on, then just hand tighten the screws to have a tight fit. It matches the all metal head too.
