I had already abused and broken a Doublehorse 9089, (my fault, as I learned to fly), and had fun with a little Protocol 7858-9 that my wife picked up from Macy's this Christmas season, (I killed that one by dropping it from two stories up directly onto ceramic tile). This Syma S002 Swift has been a lot of fun.
The one thing I don't care too much for is the controls for counteracting the helicopter's spin. My other two helis had a very simple knob that required just a turn in the opposite direction of the craft's spin; this heli, on the other hand, has a pair of buttons that you click -- one to the left, one to the right, to prevent spin. The down side of having buttons instead of a knob is that it sometimes takes numerous clicks just to stop the spin, rather than a single twist. On the up side, because you can only make one click at a time, you can't send send the heli into an instant death spiral from too big an adjustment.
Overall, I've had great fun, and have gotten to where I can fly it around the living room, and land it gently on the coffee table. My wife doesn't seem to enjoy it as much as I do -- perhaps because I sometimes have the helicopter "watch" her, hovering nearby while she's working on her laptop. So far, though, I've been quick enough to keep her from batting it out of the air. However, I'm thinking that I might buy another of these helis to use for parts, just in case she manages to beat my reflexes sometime in the future.
