This is the third indoor R/C mini-copter I have tried, but only the first I can actually recommend. The other two -- three actually, because I tried two different samples of the Picco-Z -- lost flight control after crashing just once or twice. The Reflex, however, seems designed to take a crashing and keep on thrashing! Two aspects of the design account for the unit's durability and stability. First, the large rotor blades fold upon impact. Just fold them into flight position after a crash, reset the chopper if a hard landing tripped its auto-shutoff feature by turning the little craft off and on again after ten seconds -- and you're good to go. I did manage to break one rotor wing the first day, but fortunately the manufacturer provides a few spares. I have inquired at their website to find how to order more; spares are available online for their other models, and I imagine spares for the Reflex will soon be too. The second design breakthrough here is the use of two directional propellors, instead of the usual vulnerable one, and here enclosed in plastic blade guards. Bravo! Although I can't attest to the long-term durability of this little black, yellow and white tyke, I can say that the one broken rotor wing aside, it has survived a full day of flying and crashing in my cramped and dusty apartment. Even two samples of the vaunted Picco-Z failed to accomplish that! Finally the little chopper is cute and handles well (once you get used to flying it -- I'm trying, but I'm enjoying myself immensely). I like the fact that the chopper's LiPo battery charges off A/C, not battery. I believe I read it takes twenty minutes to charge the chopper for a five-minute flight; a red LED next to the plug on the chopper flashes while charging and extinguishes when you're ready to fly. Finally the unit DID come with a nine-volt battery for the transmitter, a convenience I appreciate. As I say, this is the first inside R/C minichopper I have tried that seems to work as advertised, and I recommend it highly.
I'm back some weeks later, and I'm happy to report that my little Reflex is still flying beautifully, and I'm actually getting fairly good controlling it! I ordered and received spare prop blades from SpinMaster, but haven't broken any lately. To the customer who couldn't get the chopper to fly more than two feet off the ground, I have to believe there was a problem with his battery and assume he could have gotten a replacement or refund. I just love the Reflex and wish only that I had some sort of protective carrying case for it, so I could fly it around friends' houses...

Small in size but big on fun, this cool 'copter is the ultimate indoor radio controlled aircraft. With six-way directional control and full-function precision control, the power of flight is in your hands. Counter rotation blades and two drive rotors make for a smooth flight forward, left/right or in reverse.
27.95 MHz. Requires one "9V" battery for the controller and one charger, included. Measures 6" x 8" x 8".
