The IR controlled flying Halo Hornet is extremely fun to fly. It is made for use indoors, however can be flown outdoors if there is no wind. In fact, I highly recommend taking it outside to a nice grassy area when you first learn to fly. There are just too many obstacles indoors.
This product is supposedly age rated 8+, but it really should be 10+ or maybe for adults. They are not very durable and can be easily damaged. I bought 3 of these for myself and my boys aged 10 & 12. One was DOA out of the box, and of the two remaining, only one is still flying. My 12 year old broke his while adjusting the trim for stable flight. It spun a few times and he cut the power to avoid crashing it into a wall. It dropped onto our carpeted floor and the counter weight on top of the rotor snapped. A whopping 1 minute of flight time and $[..] bucks went down the drain. So I tried contacting NKOK the manufacturer. They do not offer parts or service. I tried krazy glue to repair it, but that didn't work. Without the part, the toy spins out of control. Such an essential part required for flight should be better made...not cheap brittle plastic.
Overall, it is a fun toy to play with. But I would not recommend it simply because it's not very durable and there is no product support. I would think at the very least, they would have included a spare part set, because I'm sure it's happened to others who own this toy.
