(More customer reviews)I have been waiting a long time for some company to make large scale modern aircraft. In a word, these aircraft are really BIG!.
I am very impressed with the amount of detail that went into the
F/A-18C Hornet. It measures a wopping! 37 inches and is very well
made. It is durable. However, I strongly recomend that anyone who
purchases either the F-16 or the F/A-18C have an appropriate place to put these aircraft. Hey, remember the 1/6 scale little bird?. They go together very easily and allow for other hobby type add-ons. I only have two problems. Only Two!. They both center around the landing gear. First, Blue Box should have made the landing gear " dirty " as in the real thing. I am talking about weathering. They did an okay job on this with the fuselage. However, they left out the landing gear. If you look at any close up detail of aircraft landing gear, you will notice they are not very clean or a vision of beauty. In fact, they are the way they are because of the dirt and grease and oil. Anyway, for all you hobbyist out there, here is your chance to extend the detail
of an already detailed model. Secondly, like all landing gear that are made of plastic, they give under weight of the model itself. Much like the " Black Hawk ". I would advise that you place something under this bird to preserve the integrity of the struts and keep it real. I have not actually purchased the F-16 as of yet. However, I did purchase several of the F/A-18C Hornets and I am very sure when the F-16 is available, you will not be disappointed. Both aircraft come with assorted realistic weapons and a realistic looking pilot. The markings on the aircraft are very nicely done and there is a lot of room for add
on type work. One final note. When I took these aircraft out of the box and started to take off the wires that hold the aircraft in the box, I found it very difficult. I suggest a new strategy!, cut the wires with wire cutters ( adults only! ), and carefully remove your new aircraft. Be careful though. It is tricky stuff!.( P.S., I also purchased the F/A-18C in the " Blue Angels Livery ". Only a handfull were made by Blue Box for a company out west. Simply put, they all look very real and are reasonbly priced at $79.99 per. "Fly NAVY"!!!.
