I'm an adult and I thought to get the Verti-Car as an office space flyer on breaks because it would be fun and intriguing. Everybody loves to watch a model helicopter flying. I found it to be essentially stable, and as one other reviewer noted, the tricycle landing wheels make for safe, breakage free landings.
But the Verti-Car is also somewhat difficult to control. That is to say it's movements are not precise. I've owned several co-axial and single rotor helicopters and they were all more precise than the Verti-Car, which seems to need constant trimming to avoid spinning itself in circles. And it tends to constantly wander from, say, flying a simple clockwise pattern around the room. For that matter, real forward movement in the air seems almost non-existent.
For a similar price, I recommend getting one of the Syma S107 gyro helicopters. The gyro system in the rotor results in one of the most precise and controllable small helicopters on the market.

Radio control cars are fun and a radio control helicopter is fun, too, so why not get a Verticar! It can zip along the ground as a car, or take flight like a helicopter. The counter-rotating blade design provides stable flight, making it easy to fly for even first-time flyers. It\'s also easy to charge the Verticar\'s onboard lithium polymer battery pack with a quick connection to the charging cable that is built into the transmitter. The Verticar synchronizes on one of three flight channels, allowing you to fly your Verticar with your friends. Transmitter requires 6 AA batteries (not included).
