(More customer reviews)Previous reviewers touched on the highlights ... 3 to 4 minutes of flight time, poor quality pictures and video. But for what I paid for it ($49), I wasn't expecting stunning video quality. It was interesting to view the video taken from the helicopter's point of view.
The helicopter relies on infrared remote control, not radio, so any time the device loses line of sight with the controller, it crashes or falls to the ground. I could fly the helicopter reliably as long as it stayed within 15 to 20 feet of me, otherwise it lost its signal and crashed.
After 4 or 5 charges, the helicopter refused to fly. As soon as the blades spin up, they shut down. I tried replacing the controller batteries, but that didn't fix the problem. So, after one day of "fun" with the Hawk Eye, it's going back to the store for a full refund.
