(More customer reviews)This is the black version of the popular Syma S012 Apache helicopter. I bought this helicopter because it was inexpensive and I didn't have a lot of confidence I wouldn't break it quickly. What I got was an excellent toy that is very stable and very durable.
This is an IR controlled heli. You can really only fly it indoors, but that's been perfect for me. I may try buying a larger RF version later. Case in point, I recently pulled it out and decided to try flying it outside for once.. the sun was down. Sure enough once it got to a certain height, it just kept going. (i completely had lost control) It flew over my house and then dropped about 30ft directly down on to my concrete driveway. I heard it hit with a crack as my kids and I were running around to the other side of the house. I thought it had stopped working (and thought it'd be broken to pieces), but then I realized I had switched off the control and much to my surprise it worked fine! It didn't even have a piece break off. Obviously doing it again may not produce the same results, but it definitely is designed and made well.
