(More customer reviews)These helicopters are great. Everyone that comes over loves them.
However, I bought them for $70 in early November on Amazon. Now I see them listed on Amazon for $170 and $250 in 2 different packages. I believe that this huge price increase is the due to the overwhelming demand for these now.
I'm not sure if that's a permanent price change, but I would not spend more than $100.
They definitely have a durability issue. Although mine have taken a beating pretty well bouncing off walls/ceiling and crashing on the rug, they lasted for two months without issue.Now, after two months, 1 of them has a broken tail (not just broken propeller but a broken tail), and this may not be repairable. The other one is still working well.
I have heard you can change the weight a little with a nail to help it go forward, but I haven't tried that yet. Otherwise, they are very hard to make go forward.....they mostly hover turning left and right and but not much forward movement.
All in all, I still think it was a great buy at $70....but not at $100+.

(More customer reviews)The havoc starts out with enough fun. But the quality has gone down from last year's models. We bought new ones this year - as our old ones lasted a year. This time, both of them eventually had the same problem: the tail rotor motor starts slowing down - causing uncontrollable spinning. We've cleaned the hair from the tail motor, replaced the tail rotor, trimmed as far as it will trim. Apparently, the new motor on the back this year fails quickly. Also, we got one that had a bad controller. You get what you pay for. [...] helicopter may last you one day or one month. Make sure you save the boxes & buy from a store that will let you return anything without hassles - and don't buy on online!! You'll have to ship it back.

(More customer reviews)I bought an orange and black one for my husband and son to play with for Christmas on the previous lightning deals. At first my husband was very irritated with it because the controls are sensitive so he was banging it against everything! Through all of the banging into things this little heli is still in tip top shape and my husband has got the hang of it and LOVES it!! My son is only 2 so he can't fly it yet but he laughs hysterically when this little heli goes zipping by! The entertainment is worth the money and though the construction of the heli may look a bit flimsy these are tough little guys!

(More customer reviews)Ordered this product with a bit of hesitation because of the variety available on the market and I wasn't sure which helicopter to choose. This was a big hit! The control is pretty good and also very easy to use. It also seems to be fairly sturdy considering all the crashes. A great way to entertain my boyfriend as well as torment our dog! Would definitely recommend for the young at heart.

Air Hogs Vectron Wave Blue Review

(More customer reviews)I was puzzled initially when I saw so many reviews for Air Hogs products saying that the battery life was very short. We never had this problem. Then I finally realized what the difference is (or at least what I think it is). DO NOT use regular AA or AAA batteries with these toys. Those batteries do not have adequate juice for these toys and will, as posted by other reviewers, last only a couple of minutes. The solution? BUY RECHARGEABLE AA batteries! We use the Sanyo Eneloop ones. The rechargeable batteries pack so much more punch, you will get a significantly longer play time with these toys.
As for a review of this product - we happened to come across it at Toys R Us. Picked it up and it is truly a great toy. Very unique concept, another innovative product from Air Hogs. It lasts at least a good 15 minutes or so before requiring a recharge (charged with the Eneloop batteries). The only concern I have with this toy is that as the battery becomes weak, the fan keeps rotating at full speed, but the toy does not fly higher if you put your hand under it. I am concerned that it might cut our son's finger - hasn't happened so far. I am guessing it has some sort of trigger which stops the fan if it comes across resistance, it does stop if I put my hand in there, but I'm not sure if a 3-year old's hands can provide adequate resistance for the fan to stop. And I don;t even want to try, so we just be careful when the battery is becoming weak and put it to recharge.
